Samurai

Indomitable worrier with Katana sword.
The original meaning of this word was the person who “ to serve” an imperial family.
After century and century, samurai became stronger than aristocrats.
They had a particular philosophy. It called “ Bushido”, samurai followed the virtue be influenced by Buddhism and Confucianism, benevolence, courtesy, wisdom and faith.
Since modernized revolution, samurai class were disappeared. But their philosophy and way of battle remains.

Geisha

Flower of Japan are them. They are female traditional dancer and singer as well as trained-conversationist.
“Gei” means art, “sha” means person. So originally geisha meant artist.
In present, they are well-known as icon of Japanese traditional women

Oiran

Oiran “花魁” is a collective term for the highest-ranking courtesans in pleasure area as known Yoshiwara”吉原”, who were considered to be above common prostitutes known as yūjo “遊女”, lit. 'woman of pleasure' for their more refined entertainment skills and training in the traditional arts.

Taiko

An ancient instrument makes a strong vibration that emphasizes a heart beat of men.
The origin of Taiko is mythical age. It used for sacred ceremony dedicated for goddess, as well as for soldiers samurai to make them cheer up.

A ninja “忍者” or shinobi “忍び” was a covert agent or mercenary in feudal Japan. The functions of a ninja included reconnaissance, espionage, infiltration, deception, ambush, bodyguarding and their fighting skills in martial arts, including ninjutsu.

Lione Renjishi

“連獅子” Renjishi or Two Lions, is a kabuki dance with lyrics written by Kawatake Mokuami first performed in 1872.
It is a popular dance in the kabuki repertoire that is often performed

Orochi (The Giant Serpents)

One day the deity Susano, the brother of Amaterasu, came down to earth. When he was walking by the Hikawa River, he saw an old couple and their daughter grieving. They told him that seven of their daughters had already become victims to an eight-headed Orochi, and it was coming to attack their one last daughter that night. He decided to overcome the serpent to save their daughter.
It is the most popular play of Iwami Kagura. The dancers’ ingenious manipulation of 18 meter long serpent puppets is a great spectacle. It is a story which tells the origin of the Kusanagi Sword, one of the three sacred imperial treasures.
